Planning a destination wedding can be exciting, yet overwhelming. Here is Part II of our Top 10 Tips:

6. SOURCE LOCALLY

One of the best ways to embrace the local culture of your wedding destination is by sourcing locally, from vendors to gifts. You may have your preferred photographer or hair & make-up artist from your region [and that’s okay!], but we recommend reaching out to the local community when it comes to your decor vendors [and of course your food and beverage]! Additionally, embrace the shopping by purchasing local gift items for those swag bags!

7. PLAN FOR YOUR PLAN B

Lock in a solid Plan B in case of unforeseen situations. Let’s repeat this again: Lock in a solid Plan B in case of unforeseen situations! Things happen and oftentimes, Mother Nature will have her own mind and we have zero control of her mood. Work with your planner to have a Plan B [even a Plan C]. Ensure you are just as excited about your Plan B, as you would be with your original plan. Why? Well, we want to make sure you are excited about either option, not disappointed!

8. SPOIL YOUR GUESTS

Destination weddings are an investement, not just to you and your significant other, but to your guests. Yes, they love you and are honored to attend your wedding, however, your guests are investing time away from work and money for travel to come celebrate with you! Please don’t expect your guests to pay for any food or beverage to any of your Wedding Weekend events [Welcome Party, Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, Day After Brunch]. Additionally, spoil yuor guests with some Welcome Swag Bags!

9. BRING AN EXTRA LUGGAGE

You know you are not going to NOT shop during your wedding week! We encourage you pack an extra suitcase, or bring your large luggage [and pack lighter], to account for any shopping!

10. CARRY-ON YOUR WEDDING ATTIRE

Unless you are wearing a simple wedding sheath, please don’t pack your wedding dress; instead bring your dress [on it’s hanger and cover] into the plane. The same rule applies for the wedding suit! Flight attendants are happy to store your attire in their closet.
